Pet Policy

1. Introduction:

The farm business recognizes the value of pets to their owners but also acknowledges the importance of maintaining a safe and productive environment for all. This policy outlines guidelines to ensure the well-being of all animals and people on our premises.

2. Definition of Pets:

Pets allowed on the farm premises include domesticated dogs and cats, and horses used for recreational purposes. Exotic or potentially dangerous animals are strictly prohibited.

3. Permission Requirement:

Prior permission is required for any pet to be brought onto the farm premises. Owners must notify farm management and receive approval before bringing their pet onto the property.

4. Leash and Restraint Requirements:

All pets must be kept on a leash or under direct control of their owner at all times. This is particularly important in areas near livestock, crops, or machinery to prevent accidents or disturbances.

5. Behavior Expectations:

Pets must be well-behaved and under control at all times. They must not chase livestock, disturb crops, or be aggressive towards visitors, other animals, or farm personnel.

6. Vaccination and Health Requirements:

All pets brought onto the farm must be up-to-date on vaccinations as recommended by a licensed veterinarian. Proof of vaccination and health certification may be required upon request.

7. Cleanup Responsibilities:

Pet owners are responsible for promptly cleaning up after their pets. Waste must be properly disposed of to maintain cleanliness and prevent contamination of farm produce, livestock feed, and public areas.

8. Supervision and Responsibility:

Owners are responsible for supervising their pets at all times and ensuring they do not pose a risk to farm operations, safety, or the well-being of other animals and visitors.

9. Visitor Pets:

Visitors are generally not allowed to bring pets onto the farm premises unless specific permission has been granted by farm management. All visitor pets must adhere to the same rules and regulations as outlined in this policy.

10. Consequences for Non-Compliance:

Failure to comply with this pet policy may result in fines, restriction of access to the farm premises, or other measures deemed necessary to maintain safety and order.
